Poznan: Super computers

We are at the Poznan super computing center for work, and today we also got to step into their super computer room. They had a lot of very cool hardware, though it does not look very cool physically. They have a single machine with 16 terabytes of RAM, though. That is cool. They also have a cooling bill in the order of 10,000 Euro per month... Endless racks of server booths.

Poznan: Embroidery done large

In the Poznan super computing center where we are working, they have huge embroideries hung on the walls. They are nice and absolutely huge.

Poznan: Another lunch

Unsurprisingly, we had lunch today too. It was good.

Poznan: Ghost house?

The building next to where we are staying looks like a ghost house. Some windows are boarded up, some are broken. It is a bit dirty and run down, and always very dark.

Poznan: Free dinner!

The second day of the meeting had the project meeting dinner. This was very nice. We first had a ten minute walk around the Old Town with a local guide. Then we were let into the Poznan archaeological museum were we had dinner. The dinner was very nice. I had pork with potatoes and pears. My colleague for once selected something I had not ordered, and he had tuna.

Poznan: Japan in Poland

In Poznan there are lots of sushi places and restaurants serving "Japanese" food. Many of them have Japanese names. There are also other places with Japanese names. We saw a shop called "Samurai" that sold karate and judo clothes and things like that. Here is a music club called Tokyo Underground, written correctly in Japanese.

The second day of meetings was slightly more interesting than the first day, but still most of the time was boring.  The lunch break was great, though. Same restaurant, different food.
