Walking around with super sour vinegar

The restaurant Gabrincho, where I often ate pizza, closed down at the end of June. I went there for a final pizza last week, and was given a bottle of something very sour. It says on the bottle that it is seven times more sour than normal vinegar, so the intended use is that you add water to dilute it 7 times and then use it like vinegar. In the restaurant, they had used it for some kind of losing a bet punishment, where someone had to drink a glass of this stuff. That seemed unpleasant.

I carried this around with me the rest of the night (since I did not pass by my home) and at one place some people tried dipping their fingers in this stuff and then touching their faces just below the nose. That was also very unpleasant, it seemed.

Jonas wine

When I was eating spicy pizza at a restaurant I often visit, the chef had just made a batch of what he called "洋梨ワイン" ("pear wine"). My name ("Jonas") sounds like "pear" ("younashi") to Japanese people, so when he noticed that all the finished alcohol would not fit into the PET-bottles he had prepared he said that I should drink the stuff that did not fit. So I got some free home made pear liqueur. There was actually quite a lot that did not fit, so he joined me and we had about two classes each.

Deep fried pizza

Stopping by to have dinner at the restaurant Gabrincho close to where I live, I noticed that they had "deep fried pizza" on the menu. I decided to try that, and it was good. The cheese inside was very very hot. I tried one with ham and cheese, and one with minced meat and eggplant. Both were good.

Home made Death Sauce

Pizza with bacon and egg

I was having pizza in an Italian restaurant run by a friend of mine when he suddenly put on goggles, gloves, and shoved paper up his nostrils. He then started running the mixer with lots of different pepper fruits in it. Apparently he had run out of "super spicy oil" to put on pizza. In Japan, everyone believes you have to put Tabasco on pizza (because that is the Western thing to do and pizza is Western food, is the thinking...) For people who like very spicy stuff, he makes this special oil instead. He gave me some to try, and it was indeed very spicy. It was more painful than the Death Sauce that is sold around here, but the taste was better. The Death Sauce has a kind of sour taste to it that this did not have.

Very spicy oil mixed with peppers

The peppers hanging here are all used when making the oil

Italian food, lobsters, and raspberry wine

Home made salsiccia.

Pizza

A lobster that you can eat if you still have an appetite after looking him in the eyes.

Raspberry wine
Yesterday I had dinner at Gabrincho, a small Italian place where a friend of mine works. He now has a lobster crawling around in a small aquarium that says "You can eat half of me for 1800 yen" on it...

He also makes excellent pizzas. I tried his home made salsiccia sausage too. He gave me some of his home made raspberry wine to try, which was also nice.

Smoked cheese, smoked sausages, more Italian, this time in Gabrincho

On Saturday I got out of be fairly late (18:00) and did not have that much time before the magic bar opened. I decided to have dinner/breakfast at Gabrincho, which is an Italian restaurant located very close to our magic bar. The pizzas are very nice, and the master throws the dough in the air like a Frisbee. I had a pizza with smoked cheese and smoked sausages.
