Omiyage (souvenirs)

Omiyage shopping in the supermarket. Supermarkets are the best place for souvenir shopping. They are cheap and they sell stuff that the locals actually use.

When travelling, the Japanese custom is that you have to give small gifts to anyone who knows you have been travelling. This means that it is common to hide this fact from as many people as possible, since otherwise your bag will explode with all the gifts you have to buy. I bought chocolate. Lots of chocolate.

I bought two sets of Swiss army knives made out of chocolate.
They also had wrist watches made out of chocolate, but they were too big and fragile for my bag.
