Pictures of me in a shop I have never been to
On Sunday I was shopping around for a new obi (belt) for my new yukatas. I went to several kimono shops, and ended up buying quite a few obis. I also entered a kimono shop in the PARCO department store that I had never noticed before. There, I noticed that there was a post with the word "magic" on it on the wall. Since I like magic, I took a closer look. There was a guy that looked extremely much like me in this poster. And some people that looked exactly like my magic bar colleagues.
It turns out that this kimono store has kimono events from time to time. The staff and the customers all dress up in kimonos and do something together. Once they came to our magic bar and watched magic. I remember when they came (it is rare to get 11 people all dressed in kimonos) but I did not know where the store was located. Now I know.
I asked a girl working there if it would be OK to take a photo of the poster, and she looked at me like I was a bit strange but said sure. I pointed to the poster and said: "This is me".

Beautiful obis! And what a surprise with poster;)
ReplyDeleteSeveral of the obis have nice patterns on the "back" side too, so they can be used in two different ways. I was especially happy with the upper left one, and the ones with color gradients.
DeleteThe poster was a big surprise! I had no idea what kimono shop they came from when they visited us (there are lots of kimono shops all over the city), so it was fun to learn that it was this store. Very centrally located.
