My life in Sapporo, Japan. Eating weird food, seeing weird clothes, meeting weird people, doing weird things.

Banana flavored potato chips!
Our university coop sells banana flavored potato chips. They also sell orange (more or less, Japanese "mikan") flavored potato chips. I imagined that banana and potato chips would not work together. I bought one bag of each, and I was right. It was not good. Who comes up with these ideas, and why are they not stopped during the testing phases?

Hokkaido man in Ginza
When walking around in Ginza I suddenly heard the "I'm a Hokkaido man" old Enka song. This song is put on repeat at a place serving Hokkaido food to tourists in Sapporo, and if you stay in a hotel close to this place, you get really really tired of this song, I am told. In Ginza, the song was used to lure people to a very small shop selling Hokkaido delicacies.
