Light snack before bed

Chicken nanban

One night when I left the magic bar with one of my magician friends, he said he was going to a restaurant where his friends work and that is open all night all the way into late morning hours. He suggested I should come too, which he often does. Usually he suggests that on weekdays when I have to home to sleep, but this time it was a weekend, and I did not even have any "work overtime for free because our boss is very busy" scheduled. I surprised him by saying I would indeed join.

The restaurant is just around the corner from our magic bar. I turned out to be small and cozy, have great food (which I knew since I had eaten food they had delivered to some other place before) and be pretty cheap. I had "chicken nanban", which is pretty common in Japan. Deep fried chicken with tartar sauce. Very good, extremely high Calories. I topped it off with some deep fried cheese. Also very good. Ah, we also had some rice cakes wrapped in bacon and put on the barbecue. Then I went home and slept.

Drinking "Sparkling Vinegar"

Today I found a new drink in our coop: "Fruit Vinegar Sparkling". This is grape juice mixed with vinegar and then carbonated. I did not like it. My colleague tells me drinking vinegar is popular now because "it makes you lose weight".

Swimming

The nice daylight view on the way to the bathing cliffs
My mother told us that when she was young she and her friends believed that swimming in the sea (which in Sweden means swimming in fairly cold water) was good for losing weight. Which it probably is. So she and her friends were swimming all the time during the summers (in the winter the sea freezes over, so you have to drill holes in the ice to swim, which is annoying).

I used to jump into the sea from this place with my cousins when I was a kid.

After eating way too much, me and mom went swimming, and my brother, his bride to be, and my Japanese friend tagged along just to watch. Apparently they do not feel they need to lose weight. Good for them. Too bad they missed out on swimming in wonderful weather and a very clean sea, though.
