My life in Sapporo, Japan. Eating weird food, seeing weird clothes, meeting weird people, doing weird things.

American size
I saw quite a few people who seemed to be too fat to walk by themselves and instead drove around on mobile chairs. This was quite exotic to me, since in Japan people are considered fat if they are above 50kg (for girls, maybe 60 for men) and people are really in-your-face pushy about it too. I meet lots of people that as one of the first things they say to me is "Wow, you are so fat! You should lose weight!" the first time (and most other times) we meet. This social pressure means that you do not see that many fat people here.
