Farewell party

A Swedish friend of mine left Sapporo the day before the Snow Festival (the only big thing to happen here between New Years and the cherry blossom viewing in May...) so we went off to have a farewell lunch. He wanted to have "tonkatsu", which means deep fried pork ("ton" is pig in Japanese, and "katsu" comes from cutlet, so literally pork cutlet). At most tonkatsu places you get free refill of your soup, rice, and shredded cabbage bowls. Tonkatsu always comes with shredded cabbage.
