Yosakoi
This week there is the Sapporo Yosakoi Soran festival here in Sapporo. Yosakoi is a kind of team dancing to techno version of traditional folk songs competition.
I pass through the festival area on my way home from work, so I stopped and watched a few teams. I happened to time this nicely and got to see 「縁」("En"), the team from my university. The always undress down to fundoshi (old Japanese g-string kind of thing) during their dance routine.
The rules allow for almost anything, and there was a team that started out with fairly traditional Yosakoi outfits but turned into cheer leaders halfway through the routine.
