We reached Lausanne at around midnight, and by then we had been travelling for about 27 hours. Since Swiss hotel rooms are about twice as expensive as the money we get from the university to pay for hotel rooms, I shared a room with a colleague. The room was nice, but the beds were very very narrow. Also, the cleaning staff kept pushing our two beds closer and closer together every day. I guess they thought we would make a nice couple.
