My former colleague asked me to explain what the soft drink machine at their hotel was actually selling. One thing it did sell was "grape soda jelly", which was super pink and contained carbonated grapefruit juice with white lumps of jelly floating around in it. No one except me seemed to like that. Maybe I have been to long in Japan.
